MINISTRY MISSION

To formulate sound economic policies, maximize revenue mobilization, ensure efficient allocation and accountability for public resources so as to foster sustainable economic growth and development.

The Accountant General's Office initiates, formulates and coordinates the implementation of policies regarding the management of public funds and providing guidance in the interpretation of government policy decisions on the control of public funds.

The Accountant General's Office essentially handles budget execution and accountability mandates which include the following functions:

i.         Procurement

ii.       Releases

iii.     Payments

iv.     Inspection and Support to MDA's

v.       Accountability & Financial Reporting

vi.     Institution of Public Financial Management Systems and Controls

vii.    Management Information Systems to support Public Financial Management.
