Finance Minister Matia Kasaija has on behalf of Government of Uganda signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the African Export-Import Bank.
The President of AFREXIM Bank Prof.Benedict Okey Oramah signed on behalf of the Bank in the Presence of President Yoweri Museveni at State House Entebbe.
Uganda is to host the AFREXIM Bank East African Regional Office and the host agreement was also signed on behalf of the Government of Uganda by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Philemon Mateke.
The Bank will support Export and Import through provision of loans to the business people and will also offer credit facilities to Government to finance Government projects.
Also present was the Chairman Intra-Africa Trade Fair Advisory Council and Former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo.
