HON BAHATI ATTENDS 31ST MEETING OF COMMITTEE OF APRM FOCAL POINTS

Minister of State for Planning David Bahati has participated in the virtual 31st meeting of the Committee of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) focal point representatives chaired by South Africa's Minister of Public Service and Administration, Senzo Mchunu.

Discussions included guidelines for conducting targeted review missions in the context of #covid19 and project proposal on National Planning as best practice. Uganda is co-chair of the APRM National Planning network.

Bahati the APRM Committee focal point for Uganda said the Country has formulated the 3rd National Development Plan and is now incorporating #covid19 effects and experiences.

He also expressed Uganda's readiness for targeted review in areas of agriculture, infrastructure and the responsiveness of the civil service.

The 40 member APRM was established in 2003 to promote good governance and compliance with African and global codes and standards.

23 Countries have completed self-assessment and all of them have been peer reviewed by the African peer review forum.

Uganda, Kenya and Mozambique are the first three countries to complete their second generation review cycle.
