YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE MINISTRY AND ENTIRE GOVERNMENT - KASAIJA

The Finance Minister Matia Kasaija has urged the staff of the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development to perform their functions diligently so that other sectors can emulate them.

Kasaija said the staff of the Ministry of Finance were the salt to the entire government because no government business can conducted without the required finances.

The Minister quoting the Bible cautioned his staff not to lose the saltiness because if they do, they will be thrown away and trampled upon.

“You should always do things in a timely manner, be firm in execution of your duties and always remain truthful so that people can trust us,” Kasaija said.

The Finance Minister made the remarks while addressing the staff of his Ministry who were on a retreat at Kyangabi crater resort in Rubirizi district.

The Deputy Secretary to the treasury, Patrick Ocailap advised the staff to always observe the chain of command in the Ministry and adhere to the direction of the strategic plan.

He also called for transparency and accountability in the way Ministry business is conducted to avoid audit queries.
